Streetstyle blogs are perhaps not the next big thing, altough they
used to be- a couple of years ago. What most of the photographers
realized, was that the random people on the streets, was never as
faboluous as the people visiting the fashion weeks. A swarm of
bloggers and photographers follow the happy few who are part of the
fashion scene in each city while walking between shows, taking cabs or
smoking cigarettes. The outfits exposed are often utopian in a sense,
and probably seldom worn outside of the events. And of course, walking
in 10 inch heels is not that much fun on a daily basis, but it might
be worth it if someone takes photos of you wearing them and publishes
them.
The street blogs also has a different value for us living in the north
of Europe. Watching photos of people showing some skin, dressing in
light colours and wearing impractical shoes- it gives us hope that the
sun hopefully will shine on us this spring also(!) although the
weather outside is still rather cold up here.
