Ida I listened aaaa lot to Kim Carnes’ song “Bette Davis Eyes” during that period.

Ida Haha I love post-its!

Ida The quote “she will unease you” was a wish for a Cinderella who dared to be more uncomfortable and messy. She has been assigned such a flat role where she is mostly inhumanly kind and docile.

Ida So the illustration for the t-shirt is a Cinderella who happily holds up the quote “She’ll unease you” while she melts away (to become a new and multidimensional person) 😉

Aplace Yes, obsessed with post-its and the Bette Davis Eyes song! Hoping for such a print soon, when Cinderella has been transformed into type Jaida Essence Hall or some other fab Drag Race queen.

Aplace Which Disney character do you most identify with?

Ida Haha yeah! What a great idea!

Ida Good question! My spontaneous thought is a mix of Blyger and Mulan …

Aplace What an amazing mix! Thinking about your bucket hatred now. How it became famous by another TV princess, Leah McSweeney from Real Housewives Of New York City wore it during an episode. How did it happen?

Ida I’ll just have to make that happen!

Ida Jaaaa Leah is such a funny and implausible princess! She started her entire business on money she received when she sued and won over the NYC police because they had beaten her.

Ida She had bought my bucket hat in the webshop and then when she wore it in an episode it became an extremely hot topic because Ramona in the same series hated that hat … HAHAHAHA!

Ida So the internet got divided into two camps: those who loved the hat and those who hated it

Aplace Yes, that a little hat can tear up so much emotions haha!

Aplace How did you get the idea for a sheer bucket hat?

Ida I know, something so small and transparent!

Ida It was prior to the SS19 show that the hat was born. The collection was about some kind of new version of a Disney princess … a little fancy, a little messy, a little Pippi Longstocking. So I wanted something equivalent to the princess’ tiara … then it simply became a bucket hat in tulle 🙂

Ida So nice to hear! Friendship is one of the most important things for me. It is very beautiful how friendship can develop over a long period of time, you become like a chosen family for each other and can pick each other up when needed. Don’t know where or what I would have been without my friends actually

Ida Sorry I got stuck with some work stuff! I see fashion as something playful, a way to express yourself and test different roles and different expressions for one’s person. Through playing and creativity you shape yourself into a new version of yourself, and never based on fear.

Ida Fashion is not a trend, in my opinion, fashion is when you through time and desire can find your way into a new kind of dimension where even you become more fluid and moldable through clothes and how to put together a whole picture.

Ida Therefore, fashion can be a bit of anything, but it is never boring or following a norm.

Ida I have just moved to a new nice studio so I am in the middle of getting it in order, there will be a shop on the ground floor and a studio one floor up 🙂 I have longed to be able to curate my own space where my customers can try on the clothes <3 It will be an IDA KLAMBORN universe.
